Konarka Technologies Receives Prestigious Award in Nanotechnology Field at TiEcon 2003, the 10th Annual Conference of The IndUS Entrepreneurs

Konarka Technologies, Inc., the leading developer of polymer photovoltaic products that provide a source of renewable power in a variety of form factors for commercial, industrial, government and consumer applications, announced it received the "Best in Category" award at TiEcons Nanotech session in Santa Clara, California. Konarka participated in the invitation-only forum where industry leaders, veteran entrepreneurs, and business visionaries from the United States, South Asia and Europe collaborated to single out and recognize new and up-and-coming companies for their ingenuity, management and entrepreneurial wealth.

The Nanotech session opened with a panel of industry experts that discussed the opportunities and challenges for nanotechnology commercialization. Panel members included: Steve Jurveston, Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurveston; Mark Klopp, Managing Director, Eastman Ventures; Alexander Wong, Partner, Apax Partners; and Meyya Meyyapan, Director of the Center for Nanotechnology NASA Ames Research Center. Out of hundreds of companies that applied to present at TiEcon, Konarka and six other firms were selected to present their businesses for review by the distinguished panel. Paul Wormser delivered the winning presentation that provided an overview of Konarkas photovoltaic technology that is focused on delivering light-weight, flexible, scalable and manufacturable products.
